Look - You and I both know that you're a really cool person who regularly does nice stuff for other people. You probably bring in a couple cans of food when there is a food drive at work/church, or you leave a bag of food on your doorstep during various food drives in your neighborhood.
However, did you know the Utah Food Bank has such amazing partnerships and buying power that they can turn a $1 into $8.71 of goods and services!
So, you see where I'm going, right? I'm running a 5k, and you're (hopefully) going to donate some money to support my fundraising efforts for the Utah Food Bank.
You don't have to donate big bucks. I mean, you totally should if you can, but lots of small donations can add up to big changes.
Can you donate just a few bucks? Your $5 donation could turn into more than $40 in goods/services. Do you know how many gallons of milk and boxes of cereal the Utah Food Bank could buy for $40? Think of all those happy kids eating breakfast - something that MY kids don't think twice about - heck, I don't even think twice about it. Seriously, just $5 from you. Happy faces across the state.
(Oh, that reminds me... Utah Food Bank distributes food across the state, so if you're one of my friends NOT in the SLC area, know that your donation helps your community, too.)
410,000 Utahns are at risk of missing a meal today. Even more alarming is that 1 in 7 Utah kids are unsure where their next meal is coming from.
Thank you for your support!

Founded in 1904, Utah Food Bank has operated under various names but has always remained true to their mission of Fighting Hunger Statewide. 289,000 Utahns are at risk of missing a meal today. Even more alarming is that 1 in 9 Utah kids are unsure where their next meal is coming from. Last year, they distributed 67.3 million pounds of food, the equivalent of 56.1 million meals, to people facing hunger across the state. Utah Food Bank can stretch each $1 donated into $9.04 worth of goods and services. To find out more about donating food, time or money, please visit http://www.utahfoodbank.org.
